School Information

Registration for the 2013-2014 school year will begin on February 18th and continue through Wednesday, March 20th.  There is a 20.00 testing fee for all applicants.  Students not currently enrolled in a Calcasieu Parish School will need to bring the student's original birth certificate, social security card, shot record and most recent report card.  When you come to register a testing date in April will be assigned.  All testing is done in a group setting.  Kindergarten entrance testing is done in groups of 8.  Other grade levels are tested in groups of 8-15.  For more information you may call the school office at 217-4680.

School Population:  302 students in Grades K-5

Breakfast:  Breakfast is served beginning at 7:15 and serving ends at 7:35.

School Hours:   School Starts at 7:45 AM and Dismisses at 3:00 PM.  Students are tardy at 7:45

Lunch Times:  K&1 at 11:30 AM;  2&3 at 11:55 AM;   4&5 at 12:20 PM  

Extended Day Program is open from 6:30 - 7:30 and from 3:00-6:00 each school day.

Special Programs

Music- Music is offered daily to students in K-3rd grade.  The music program at T.S. Cooley provides the students with opportunities for creativity and self expression.  Students in Grades 4 & 5 may elect to be a member of the Performing Choir.  Students in Grades 3-5 may take Piano lessons as part of the Enrichment Curriculum.

Art-  Art is taught twice a week to all students in Grades K-5.  Students in Grades 4&5 may elect to take Advanced Art for their Enrichment Period. 

French- The French program at T.S. Cooley provides a conversational French curriculum to students in Grades Kindergarten through five.  Various methods are used to integrate Art, Music, Math, and Language to help the students develop a French vocabulary.

Dance-  Jazz class is offered to students in grades K-4th grade once a week during their P.E. class time.
